The good news this month is that we now have a new PALMS volunteer to continue the education project started by Anne Chapman. Heather Chapman, an experienced teacher from Brisbane is taking on this task and is due to start in Atabae about mid-April.
Heather attended this month’s FPET meeting and met with members enabling a sharing of ideas and getting aquainted. At this meeting we discussed our policy on education in recognition of changing needs and to ensure we are making good use of our resources.
Anne’s trainee teachers have been continuing classes at Atabae and the health workers have been continuing to provide basic community health services while Sharon has been away. Sharon has now returned to Atabae but Ian has gone to stay with family in Melbourne to continue recuperating after his illness which was quite severe and he has taken some time to recover.
